World Cup in Lion Country

I got this message from Hung the other day...

"Hey there, no need to worry. I'm in Rundu on the
northern fontier between Angola and NAMIBIA, staying
on a riverside lodge overlooking a slow and low
Okavango. Headed to Tsumbe tomorrow.

Bulawayo is getting by, from what I can gather
skimming the surface. The blacks are resigned (fate)
but the whites are distraught and complain bitterly
about the state of things at every opportunity. "It
use to be a nice country" (thanks to old Bob) seems to
be the refrain among them.

We had our first transport fiasco from Katima (Nam) to
Rundu. Actually, two breakdowns, one that required a
rescue vehicle, and the second proved fatal to the
second car. "But who's goin to rescue you" comes to
mind. Ended up on the side of the road along the
Caprivi strip, very cold, in the middle of the night
in as the other passengers said "lion country". I
built a fire, as per on the passenger's suggestion in
full contravention of Nat'l park law no doubt.

Saw a green Mambo, or maybe just a harmless tree
snake.

Anyway want to be in Tsumbe for the first world cup
game, and then maybe book something to Etoshe or
somewhere else from there, even though I'm having
second thoughts about camping, considering how cold it
is, esp. in the middle of the bush. "

Angola v. Portugal tomorrow...
